Linda Foley: Rhymes with “rich”
Unbelievable. Well, on the bright side, the Newspaper Guild has finally commented on President Linda Foley’s unsubstantiated remarks that U.S. troops are deliberately killing journalists.
On the down side, they go on the attack, and don’t even bother to offer up proof to back her remarks. Even better, Foley the coward didn’t even have the guts to comment in the story, relying instead on a guild apparatchik. Just keep hiding under that rock.
Hiawatha Bray, blogger and Boston journalist, brought this TNG press release to Michelle Malkin’s attention. The title, “Right-wing attack-dogs savage TNG president for comments on Iraq deaths,” pretty much says it all:
TNG-CWA President Linda Foley has become the latest target of right-wing extremists, who have mounted a multi-media attempt to force her resignation over comments made May 13 at a media conference in St. Louis. The campaign, started by Sinclair Broadcasting, Fox News and the Washington Times, then fanned by a growing number of bloggers, echoes a similar effort that earlier this year forced the resignation of CNN news chief Eason Jordan.
So MSM agencies reporting on her comments — with a commentary or two on their inappropriateness for good measure — becomes in their eyes a campaign to get her fired?
I’ll be commenting on this in greater detail tomorrow as we laugh at how the Guild defends the undefendable, and how the Guild draws parallels between Fearful Leader Foley and UC professor Ward Churchill.
This is how MSM journalists for the most part think, folks. You don’t need to prove anything you say if you can loudly scream about “right-wing attack dogs.”
If you have a loved one in the military, you subsidize this bile through your subscription. You subsidize this bile if you shop at small businesses that advertise in Guild newspapers. It’s time to start canceling subscriptions, and telling everyone in the world why you are doing it.
“Right-wing attack dogs”? I’m just getting started.
