Colmes leaving Hannity & Colmes
Alan Colmes is leaving FNC’s Hannity & Colmes. I’ve heard that this was of his own volition, that he wants to do other stuff. He had evidently pitched a weekend show to the network, but the idea was set aside ’til after the election. Now, the pilot is evidently a go.
We haven’t heard who will replace Alan after he leaves, after this year, but my guess is that it will be lefty Kirsten Powers. Like Colmes, she spouts the Dem line and spins their standard spin, so this is harmless stuff.
I cannot take credit for this thought, but a friend thought it would be kewl if Rupert Murdoch could loot the 9p competition, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. But she’s under contract with the Keefums people.
Personally, I liked Alan Colmes on the show, as he was lefty without angrily sneering and repeating, over-and-over, worn out mantras. I look forward to his new project, and to 12 more years of Hannity & Powers (?) dominating the 9p time slot.
