TV Critic Pans Palin interviews
Of late, FNC’s Greta van Susteren [transcript] and NBC’s Matt Lauer [transcript] have interviewed Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Both interviewers did a credible job of asking Governor Palin thoughtful questions and allowing her to respond.
TVNewswer reports that obscure TV critic David Zurawick, who ought to stick to giggly sitcoms a boring dramas and leave the political interviews to those who understand, has harsh words:
…of the two, Lauer is the biggest disappointment. I expected almost nothing from Van Susteren, who defines bottom feeding both in subject matter and approach to news on cable TV.
But Lauer was such a wimp — almost as obsequious as the smarmy Sean Hannity in the bended-knees interview the Fox talk show host did with Palin during the election.
Zuruwick bases his opinion of Palin (as ignorant) on what? On two poorly conducted interviews and several SNL skits. Any interview which deviates from his programmed norm cannot be so to Zulliwack, trained as he is as a TV critic.
Zildowack is out of his league. And he’s not satisfied with getting his guy in the White House.
If you’re curious, here is Zoodildowack’s column from the Baltimore Sun.
