John McCain gave aging TV talker David Letterman his highest ratings (6.5-million/1.7 rating) in years. He had 43% more viewers than did Jay Leno, whose featured guest was the ever-excited Joe “the hair plug” Biden.

Sarah Palin is set to boost the ratings of NBC’s Saturday Night Live when she appears on that show tonight.

This probably will not translate into a lot of votes, but it could attract a few, and if the race is a close as had been predicted at one point, every vote counts.
