NBC News President Steve Capus has hissed that all this speculation over who will succeed Tim Russert at Meet the Press is “borderline crass.” Besides, he said, Russert will be replaced by “numerous people.”

“Borderline crass” Steve sniffs. And the excessive, inappropriate on-air grief goup therapy wasn’t?

Doesn’t Capus see the hypocrisy here? Isn’t MSNBC blowhard Keith Olbermann’s obsessive nightly Bush-bashing crass? His demonic diatribes against Bill O’Reilly and Fox News? Chris Matthews’s Hillary misogyny?

I still think Capus should accept responsibility for Olbermann and resign in shame.
