By all accounts, even those of Katie Couric in the International (Green) Zone in Baghdad, General David Petraeus will report to Congress next week that the surge is working and needs more time so that the mission can be completed. He will offer evidence of these things, but the left is prepared to “refute” this by claiming that the general is a Bush shill who spins for the White House and puts politics above the safety of his troops.
